Persher '
Sleep Well' is out now on Thrill Jockey. Dig in as Jamie Roberts (AKA Blawan) and Arthur Cayzer (AKA Pariah) from Karenn debut their side project bludgeoning noise tracks with a whole lot of metal and caustic vocals. It handily achieves it's goal of entertaining wryly if not unhinging you bit. If you like experimental music give this guy a spin. It's a wild ride that ultimately pays off with a rather big impact. Sleep Well... (not).

Sleep Well was mastered for all formats by Amy Dragon at Telegraph Mastering.

Ripley Johnson has graced us again with “Earth Trip”, the third release from his solo project. It’s a beautiful album that is truly a billet-doux to the natural world. It’s impossible not to be lifted and carried away to calm with this one.

Earth Tripis out now on Thrill Jockey, though last I checked inventory was low and going fast. It was recorded by Colin Stewart at The Hive, mixed by Cooper Crain at Electrical Audio, and mastered for all formats by Amy Dragon.

John Bence has delighted us once again with his brilliant new release 'Love". With expansive piano performances, this may be one of his best yet. Powerful, raw and highly emotional, Bence walks us though a time of sobering clarity and a shift towards the light. Do take some time to listen through.

Portland musician Dewey Mahood, the genius behind Plankton Wat, is out with this gorgeous album 'Future Times'. Mahood teamed up with Dustin Dybvig and engineer/producer Victor Nash to create a regional experiential time capsule. This album was recorded in the spring of 2020, when the pandemic began and the feelings of uncertainty were amplified by racial injustice and coastal wildfires. "Future Times taps into psychedelia’s counter-cultural heritage as music for protest, liberation and imagining new ways of being in this world." Get this album while you can still pre order it.

Holy Sons is out with this gorgeous double LP, "Raw and Disfigured". This album certainly delivers. Emil Amos, of Om, Grails, and Lilacs and Champagne showcases his brilliance in this searing and comprehensive release. Emil "draws thematically from the archetypal tale of Quasimodo and classic ghost story imagery to illustrate the “hero’s journey” in the time of a coming apocalypse." The vinyl sold out almost immediately, so definitely check back in for a repress.
